PINE VILLAGE KITCHEN UPDATE

Construction of the new kitchen officially began on November 27, 2019, the day before Thanksgiving, with the celebration of a ground breaking! Timing was quite fitting, as this campaign reaps thankfulness. What began as a $1 million goal, was able to be exceeded through so many generous supporters as well as being awarded a $100,000 Mabee Foundation Challenge Grant and state tax credits.

“Building a new kitchen has been in conversation for more than a decade, and to actually turn the soil is a little surreal,” said Administrator Shelby Shaw. “We cannot say thank you enough to all of our donors who are making this possible. To have so many others believe in this project has been quite humbling. Pine Village is truly blessed with the best!”

Construction was anticipated to take at least a year, but with the onset of COVID that timeline has been extended into 2021. Contractor is Fuqua Construction, who has done several other projects on campus including the Assisted Living expansion in 2009. The full addition is constructed and the roof is almost complete. At the time of this writing HVAC and electrical is being roughed in. Check out our website and Facebook page for updates. We would encourage you to avoid driving by until COVID subsides.

Again thank you to all those who have supported the campaign and for supporting the future ministry of Pine Village! The best is yet to come!
