Pine Village provides specialized care for those suffering from Alzheimer’s or certain types of dementia. Meadowbrook, our secure neighborhood, offers 14 private rooms. Each room includes a half-bath. The Meadowbrook neighborhood has it's own living room, kitchen, dining room, and outdoor courtyard for residents to enjoy.
Behavior-Based Ergonomics Therapies (BBET)
BBET is designed to manage and reduce behaviors associated with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Pine Village has incorporated this innovative, non-medication program in Meadowbrook. The comforting and stimulating therapies are not group exercises; they are developed for each individual’s needs and interests. The therapies have resulted in a reduction of resident falls and decrease in the use of psychotropic medications. Pine Village was the first facility in Kansas to have the BBET program. BBET was developed by Dr. Govind Bharwani, a professor at Wright State University, in Dayton, OH, along with his daughter, Meena Bharwani, a healthcare consultant. The program received six national awards.
