August 8 – is National Sneak Zucchini on your Neighbors’ Porch Day….and if you grow zucchini you will be sneaking it to several neighbors! One plant produces an endless supply of zucchini and more than one plant it could probably end world hunger!
August 9 – we travel to Hutchinson to eat at Roy’s Hickory Pit BBQ. Roy’s is family owned and operated since 1982 and is rated as one of the top 100 BBQ rest
aurants in America – we’re all in for a real treat! You can sign up in the Wellness Center.
August 16 – we will tour the Hudson Flour Mill in Stafford County. This flour mill is considered one of the 8 wonders of Kansas commerce because it’s one of the last independent flour mills remaining in the United States. You also can sign up in the Wellness Center.
August 18 – we will host the Moundridge Library Summer reading program at 10 a.m. with a presentation from the Exploration Place out of Wichita. Then, that afternoon we will host the Red Cross Community Blood Drive from Noon – 6 p.m. I hear there is shortage of blood this summer, so your donation is very much appreciated!
August 20 – Eden Mennonite Church will host the Sunday morning church service at 10 a.m. in the Wellness Center.
Finally, on August 25 will be our Annual Benefit Day Bierock Dinner. All bierocks are homemade and delicious! Dinner will be from 5:30 – 7 p.m. More information coming soon!
