Pine Village to Host Book Club

Last week I wrote about us hosting the Moundridge Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, which kicked off Friday. I was only in the Wellness Center for a short while that morning, but from the laughter and action, it was obvious everyone was having a ball! We look forward to their next time on campus!

We also host an adult Book Club, which is led by Connie Olson. This month’s book is “Harriet Beamer Takes the Bus” by Joyce Magnum. The book is about Harriet, an aging widow who lives in Philadelphia with her dog, who ends up falling and breaking her ankle. This results in her family insisting she move to California with them. She agrees, but only on the terms that she will take public transportation and alternate means across the United States. Along the way, Harriet discovers that although her family thinks it’s time for her to be put out to pasture, God has a different plan.

The Book Discussion will take place on July 31 at 3 p.m. in the Wellness Center, so you still have time to pick up a copy from the front desk if you want to join in! All are welcome! For more information you can contact Connie at 345.2900.

Be kind to one another!
