Pine Village to receive PEAK Award

Pine Village to receive PEAK Award

By Shelby Shaw

Next week, on Wednesday, February 22, we will officially receive our PEAK Level 5 Mentor Award. The Kansas Secretary on Aging Tim Keck will be on campus to present the award at 3:45 p.m. in the Chapel. Anyone is invited to attend.

PEAK is the person-centered care program initiated through the State of Kansas to better elder care. There are six levels in the PEAK program and Level 5 is the highest recognition you can receive. Pine Village embarked on this journey just four years ago and started at Level 1, but quickly advanced through the ranks, even skipping a level.

Not only is Pine Village offering person-centered care to their residents, but we also serve as a Mentor home to other long-term care communities across the State. Each year, we host staff from other homes for a 1 day experience to give them the opportunity to learn and see person-centered care. Pine Village is one of only 7 homes in the State to hold a Level 5 honor.

We hope that you can join us next Wednesday!

Be kind to one another!
