Benefit Day Auction – Oct. 20

Benefit Day Auction – Oct. 20

By Shelby Shaw

This week we wind down from a Benefit Day Frenzy of events! The week was kicked off with the Variety Show. Then, we had the Walk-A-Thon on Thursday. It had great weather and we had almost 20 residents come out for a stroll with volunteers. Director of Wellness & Volunteerism Becki Yoder always does a great job of organizing the Walk. Thank you to the community members who supported the Walk, including some members of Moundridge High School’s FCCLA.

Then we rounded out the week with the Sloppy Joe lunch and Bake Sale. This event was very well attended and the lunch was delicious, plus the bake goods I purchased to take home were delightful! Betta Kym did a great job chairing this event again – a huge thank you to her and all the other volunteers who helped make the Lunch and Bake Sale a success!

The only Benefit Day event left for this season is the Dinner and Auction on Thursday, October 20 – mark your calendars! Auction items are coming in and Julie Kern, Director of Marketing, has been posting pictures on our web site – Be sure to check it out regularly!

The support of the volunteers and the financial contributions made are greatly appreciated! This year’s Benefit Day proceeds go the remodeling of the Kitchen off the Main dining room. The Kitchen dates back to 1965, and is serving more than it was originally designed for. The initial plan includes an expansion and remodel of flow for the kitchen.

Be kind to one another!
